We are now in peak holiday season and with many of us still relaxing on the beach, I will keep it short and sweet this month.It’s not been a bad summer. There have been quite a few hot days and hopefully there will be some more to come. But the countdown has now begun - in only a week or two it will be September and we will all be heading back to work and school.
For the sales market, this is the time of year when we start gearing up for one of our busier periods, especially as the base rate has just dropped by 0.25%, bringing down the cost of home ownership. And, I am pleased to say, there is already evidence of increased activity and rising prices.
In the lettings market, we are already in the midst of one of our busiest periods. Activity normally picks up in June and now the rush is on to get settled into a new home before the next academic year (or job) begins.
So, if you have a house or a flat that you are thinking of selling, now would be a good time to give us a call. That way, we can get the ball rolling in time for what is one of the shorter sales periods and you’ll have plenty of time to make any small ‘tweaks’ that we might recommend to ensure you get the maximum price.
