New Season Kicks Off

September is one of my favourite months of the year. It often has some of the best weather - the sun is still shining but the humidity has gone, and the mornings are often beautifully crisp. It has a certain energy, too, as everyone returns from their summer breaks refreshed and raring to go.

It's also when the new sales season kicks off in earnest. Buyers who have been idly browsing over the summer now get serious. And, although it might seem a long way off, anyone hoping to be settled into a new home before Christmas needs to get the ball rolling, because the process always takes longer than you think.

You won't be the only one, either, as there are quite a lot of properties coming onto the market at the moment. It means you need to price competitively if you want to achieve a timely sale and anything overpriced risks going stale.

On the lettings side, it’s a different story, as we've been busy throughout the summer. It's one of our busiest times of the year and is now reaching its peak. The new academic year is already underway and any students that are not yet settled are rushing to secure their accommodation.

The good news for them is that rent rises are finally slowing and supplies are improving. There is, though, still plenty of competition, but it’s just not quite as fierce as it once was.

So, if you're thinking about making a move, whether that’s in the rental or the sales market, don't delay, just give us a call, and we can get you moving.

Right, that's it from me for now. I'll be back next month when, no doubt, the speculation over what’s in Rachel Reeve’s Autumn Budget will have reached fever pitch!
