Well, here we are, heading into the good old British summer. That damp squib of an Easter is behind us and we’ve got a couple more Bank Holidays in the offing, with May Day and the Spring Bank Holiday still to come. So, hopefully we will see some improvement in the weather, followed by a barbecue summer- but, we won’t hold our breath, will we?In the property market, March saw property prices reach a record high. One half of the press reacted by saying they are concerned about overheating, while the other half said that the EU referendum is making buyers cautious! That’s experts for you!
Meanwhile, those same people keep putting-back the date when we can expect our first interest rate rise. I even saw a headline this morning that was talking about the first increase not happening until 2020. So, that will be more overheating, I suppose. In other news, apparently, for the first time in ten years, last month, detached house sales outstripped the sales of flats.
Mind you, as we know, what’s going on nationally is not always reflected locally. If you want to get a real feel for what’s happening near you, you need to deal with someone locally. And that’s where we come in, of course. So, you may be better to ignore all the headlines and make the most of our local knowledge by giving us a call.
Other than that, I hope you have a good month and if I don’t speak with you before, I’ll see you, here, in May.
